John B. Gillen III, M.D., FACS, has been practicing at Ear, Nose, and Throat of Springfield, where he relocated with his wife and two daughters after completing training in otolaryngology – head and neck surgery at Henry Ford Hospital, Detroit, Michigan, in 1993. He earned his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Cincinnati in 1988 and his Bachelor of Science from the University of Notre Dame in 1984. He is certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology, and he is a member of the American Academy of Otolaryngology – Head & Neck Surgery, the American Academy of Otolaryngic Allergy, and the Ohio State Medical Association. He has been elected a fellow of the American College of Surgeons. His special interests within ENT are in endoscopic and balloon sinus procedures, as well as voice disorders.
Dr. Gillen serves as the medical and technical director of our on-site CT scanner, which is accredited by the Intersocietal Accreditation Commision for computed tomography facilities. He is also a clinical associate professor of the Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine and a member of the Board of Managers at the Ohio Valley Surgical Hospital.
